Disney World!!

Photobucket
Lizzie got to meet Mickey Mouse! She was very excited by the whole Disney World experience. She was actually able to go on many of the rides including Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, etc. She liked Haunted Mansion so much we went on it 3 times!
Photobucket
We had a full Disney experience staying at a Disney resort and park hopping each day visiting Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood MGM, Downtown Disney, Disney Quest, etc. We were so happy that Mike was able to come with us for this trip- he's a real laugh a minute and added a lot of fun to the trip. Also, he got a lot of time with Lizzie and we knew he obtained true family status when she started voluntarily giving him her cute baby kisses and reaching out her arms for him.
Photobucket
We even got to go behind the scenes to staff and friends only locations thanks to a friend, Laura! She was quite the tour guide. She really added the cherry on top of the whole experience.

I LOVE Maui

We have taken up vacationing as a career this summer and, let me tell you, we are working hard at it! We have been so busy that I haven't been able to keep up with the blogging or even take nearly as many pictures as I would like. BUT, we are having sooo much fun.
Photobucket
Maui is my favorite place in the world. Maybe because that was our honeymoon spot and its full of so many good memories. I absolutely love just spending time at the beaches there. It was great to be able to share the experience with our best friends from dental school. We are all so glad to be done with dental school and moving on in life. It was a great way to celebrate.

Photobucket

It was fun to have Lizzie with us this time too! She definitely loved the whole Hawaii experience. She is an outdoor girl who is not afraid to get dirty, wet, or just plain hot and sweaty. She was so good natured and just smiled the whole time.
Photobucket
We had to keep an eye on her though because when we weren't looking she would sneak a taste of the sand. We had some sandy diapers for a while...
Photobucket
Not only did she act like a local by being so happy at the beach, but she looked like one in her little authentic Maui outfit.
Photobucket

We spent most of our time at the beaches, but we did get out a bit to see a pineapple plantation, visit the shopping districts, and, of course, visit the Kihei Cafe for breakfast. I still maintain that the Kihei Cafe has the best french toast in the world.

Photobucket
I think my favorite activity while there was SCUBA DIVING!!! We did 2 days worth of excursions looking at Turtle Town and Coral Reefs. There was so much sea life to see. I spent alot of the time chasing the huge turtles on the ocean floor.

Photobucket

It ended up being great weather and the water had some pretty big waves. It was really funny to watch people being swallowed up by the huge waves.

Photobucket

Photobucket
We really enjoyed having our good friends there to share all the fun times with.

Hopefully this will be the first of many more, post grad, vacation get togethers.

Trevor is leaving for Russia in one week!

Photobucket
He is going to make such a great missionary! We are so proud of him.
Photobucket

It was nice to have him around for this last vacation before he disappears for two years!
Photobucket

He's venturing out across the seas on a foreign mission to teach the gospel to a people of a different culture and language. Good luck!

Washburn Family Vacation

For our vacation this year we met in Chicago then headed to Door County Wisconsin!
Photobucket
We had such a great time! Door County is a small, charming area of Wisconsin that won my heart. Its a great place to enjoy some seclusion in the wilderness , shop small town boutiques, and have fun on Lake Michigan!
Photobucket
It was perfect for the kids too! They enjoyed having some time outside and we enjoyed trading babysitting with Adam and Lisa!
Photobucket
Jared and Allison were so cute fun. I was glad to have the chance to spend some time with the little cuties!
Photobucket
I love the quirky novelties of small towns. Such as: the famous, "Building With Goats on the Roof"
Photobucket
One of my favorite activities was flying on segways through the woods, meadows, along the water, etc. Segways always look dorky til you get on one and turn the speed all the way up! It was the lazy man's hiking. I loved it.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Jared was bursting with excitement to ride the trolley.
Photobucket
Whenever you find something like a rhino beetle you can expect Tyler to be close by...
Photobucket
Dave, Liz, and I would go for a walk every day and just enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors!
Photobucket
This was our second time parasailing and it was as fun as I remembered it to be!! ..A little higher than I remembered though!
Photobucket

Photobucket
I wouldn't have been nervous except for the fact that we were cruising in Door County waters. They call it Door County as in DEATH'S DOOR county.
Photobucket
The waters have a long standing history of sinking ships.
Photobucket
Once you got up to full height it was just a gorgeous view and it calmed the nerves.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Since the whole family was together we had a photographer come to the house and take some pics of the whole crew!

My parents were in heaven with all the grandkids around!

Lizzie Bear is 8 Months!

Our favorite nickname for Elizabeth is "Lizzie Bear." We started calling her that when she wore her pink winter coat with bear ears and it has just stuck!
Photobucket

Lizzie is 8 months old! She turned 8 months old while we were in Door County, Wisconsin vacationing with my family. It is so fun to watch her grow and learn new things every day! I love how excited she is about being mobile. She has become very adept at cruising and bending down to pick up small objects off of the floor as she goes. She uses a variety of syllables now and seems to prefer saying "dada and daddy!"
Photobucket
While at my parents house, she was loooving the dog, Benny. She was scared at first, but then grew to really like him and would reach for him.
Photobucket
She has such a cute little personality. We always call her our little busy body because she is always wanting to be on the move or playing with toys. She's not the type of gal to happily sit still on a lap. She is very determined and will not be stopped by any obstacles when she's trying to reach some item that has caught her interest.
Photobucket
This is a picture of an oil painting that my mom made for Lizzie's room! Its sooo adorable...I think Lizzie will look just like the picture when she gets a little older! Is my mom talented or what!

Lizzie The Ninja Warrior!

If you've ever seen the Japanese series "Ninja Warrior" or the American version "Wipeout" you may have an extra appreciation for this video!
It has taken me a while to post this one- this was filmed right after Lizzie had turned 7 months old. (This obstacle course is a piece of cake for her now!)

Also, notice how she is chasing a cell phone. She is OBSESSED with cell phones! If she sees anyone talking on one she will go crazy until we give her one too. (She has a plastic display phone that was made to look and feel like a real one.)

Happy First Father's Day Dave!!

Dave,

My video editing/creating skills are VERY amateur so there was alot of blood, sweat, and tears put into this!
May you always remember your first year of fatherhood!

With Love,
