Tiling Project Done!

Its finally done! Its actually been done for a little while but I'm finally posting a blog about it! This has been a huge project that Dave and I did this Summer- Tiling our kitchen floor. It used to be scratched up white linoleum that always looked dirty. We have never tiled before and we learned a lot. The most important lesson being: Tiling is long hard work! We are so happy with our new kitchen though.


We started out by laying cement board and got some practice working with mortar. Then we tacked it down with around 1000 screws. We worked til 3AM some nights just to get some time at it without the kids around! Little girls and mortar do not mix well.

We made sure the floor was nice and level then laid the tile! Cutting tile...more mortar..grout...and then the final step of sealing it all! This floor took us hours and hours of work but when I look at our floor I see a story and a person with each tile laid :).

We had many friends and family help us with this project and a big THANK YOU to all of you! Couldn't have done it alone!
