LIZZIE Pulls Herself Up!

I have decided to officially change the spelling of Elizabeth's nickname from "Lizzy" to: "LIZZIE" I have found that I just like it spelled with an "ie" more than with a "y".

So check out this video to see her newest trick. My little 6 month old is getting to be such a big girl. She loves to pull herself up on furniture, people, boxes, everything.

Our Little Family

Jamie took some family pics for us since we hardly have ANY with all three of us. Its nice to have some kind of record of all three of us being together!

Cousin Katie

These two cute girls are so much fun! Cousin Katie loves little babies. So, of course she takes such good care of Lizzy.

Cousins

Lizzy and Allison were so adorable together. I can't wait to watch these two grow up together and become good friends.
They made it so easy for me to take cute pictures because they would look at each other, hold hands, and they even seemed to parallel each others movement at times. They acted more like twins than cousins!

Lizzy would get very concerned when Allison cried. So sweet.

Lizzy was just squealing with delight whenever she was laying next to Allison.

Allison didn't seem to mind having Lizzy around either. She was a very good sport about it, even when Lizzy would try to clobber her.
How many more matching outfits do they have? Trust me. This is only the beginning. There will be many more matching outfits for years to come!

These two tried to get their frog-loving Uncle's attention by dressing up in matching frog outfits!

Allison's Baby Blessing

I was so excited to be present for my little niece's baby blessing. She looked so beautiful in the dress and bonnet that my mom made. After the blessing, we went back to Adam and Lisa's home, and had fun playing with the babies.
Baby Allison has such a sweet, calm temperament. I hardly heard a peep out of her the whole time I was there.
She's still so young that she just sleeps any time, anywhere she pleases. I remember how nice that used to be when Lizzy was that small....
Adam and Lisa are such great parents. They have TWO kids now. Wow! Congrats you two!

Homemade Dresses

I am finally back home after 3 weeks of being in Lakewood with Dave's family and Chicago with my family! I had sooo much fun with both families, however, I was a slacker with my camera and did not take many pictures. I did find myself pulling the camera out for cute babies though!!
My mom and I sewed homemade dresses together. Check out the cute blue dress she made!

While my mom made the blue dress, I was busy making this little sun dress for Allison, my cute 2 month old niece!

It wasn't quite warm enough outside so she has a onesie and tights on, but she was able to wear it and it fit!!

6 MONTHS!!!

Elizabeth Rose is 6 months old!!!!
My little baby is getting older so fast! She has such a sweet little personality. She is such a happy little girl! Just recently, she has really moved past her fear of strangers phase. When I was in the airport today, I noticed she was smiling at everybody and being very social. She especially loves other babies and kids.
She has grown to be a very strong baby. She can sit up on her own, stand on her own for about 3 seconds, roll around, spin in circles, and scoot a bit. She loves to stand up and have assistance walking- thats her favorite thing to do! On the airplane today, I put her in her carseat without strapping her in and she twisted around, grabbed the top of the seat and pulled herself into standing position. I had to quickly grab her before she toppled onto the floor. She still has no interest in staying on her tummy when she's playing, but oddly enough, she has started sleeping on her tummy.
She recognizes some words now and will respond to them. For example: We play a fun game where I say "Give me your hands!"
Then she reaches her arms up to me. Then when I say "Sit, sit sit!" she will pull herself into sitting posture. Then I say, "stand, stand, stand!" and she pulls herself up to standing position. Then I say, "jump!" and she'll jump. She also knows the word "hungry", and will whine and cry when I ask her if she's hungry. Its very exciting to watch and help her learn; I love it! Favorite things to do: She loves to play with toys and can entertaing herself for long periods of time with the right toys. She also loves bath time, swimming, laying in the grass, when the wind blows in her face and hair, trips in her carseat, and going for walks in the baby carrier. She is such a great travel buddy. We just got back home after 3 weeks of being in Lakewood and Chicago. She has been very adaptable to her new environments. She is a great sleeper and napper, but seems to be more sensitive to noises. So as long as its quiet she will snooze away!
One thing that cracks me up about her is that she gets scared over silly things sometimes. I discovered that when I put a towel over my hair it freaks her out! I found this out after many fussy times while I was drying my hair. So I tested it and every time I put a towel over my hair she would get really scared, whine, and then start crying until I take the towel off. Then the other day she was laughing at my silly faces until I apparently took it too far. I pushed my nose up and oinked at her. Her little face just crumpled and she started crying the way she does when she gets scared.
There are so many things I will want to remember about her little 6 month old personality, but I could go on forever. She is such a sweet baby. Dave and I are so grateful for the excitement, fun, and love she has brought us for the past 6 months.
