DOCTOR DAVE has graduated!!!

Watch out world!! Dave is now, OFFICIALLY, a Doctor of Dental Surgery!!!! He is going to be such a great dentist!! His patients at the school were very sad to lose him, but he's going on to a better place. Where is that place you ask?? Well...we are not sure at the time and are on the hunt for a job in the area.
It is very unreal to think that the 8 years are finally over!! Its been a looong road, but we've had a lot of fun a long the way. We like road trips.
I am SOOO proud of Dave. Dental school is a very stressful time, but he managed to keep his cool, stay positive, and do well in school. What an accomplishment!! He loves all aspects of dentistry, but has a special passion for placing implants and other dental surgeries. While in school, he did so many extra surgeries above and beyond the requirements just for the FUN of it. What a guy! I love you and am so proud of you Dave- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

WE MADE IT!!!!

Little Swimmer

We are finally getting over a cold that has afflicted our little family this week! This picture sums up what we've been doing to survive the heat, though.

I love that Lizzie loves wearing these adorable sunglasses- so funny!!

7 Months Old!

Lizzie is 7 months old now! She has changed so much in the past month it is unbelievable! She is becoming more and more mobile every day- its shocking. She is now a professional "Cruiser." She pulls herself up on furniture then shuffles from one place to another while holding onto various connecting pieces of furniture. Her favorite thing to do is use a diaper box as a walker and walk around the room, making mischief as she goes!
With her newfound mobility, she has a developing sense of independence and strong will, it seems. The other day I was reading to her, and when we got to the end of one of her favorite Curious George books, I said, "The End!" Then I put the book away. She, apparently, was not ready for it to end, though. She got so mad and threw the biggest screaming fit, arching her back and the whole works. I tried bouncing her, talked soothingly, made funny noises (the ones that always get a laugh), and even gave her a different book to try and distract her. However, the fit would not end. So, finally, I got the same Curious George book back out and gave it to her. INSTANTANEOUSLY, she stopped crying and smiled....like mother like daughter I suppose. (My parents always talk about me being stubborn as a young child.)
On the bright side, she looves to read with me! She's very good at turning the pages by herself and will generally wait for me to say "Turn the Page!" BUT if I try to turn the page without her, then watch out! I always regret doing that...
Elizabeth loves the water so we made a kiddie pool for her in our backyard out of a large storage tub! Check out those chubby baby rolls!
She is still a big fan of the outdoors. She's always happy as can be when we're havin fun in the sun.
She's always chewing on something. She loves to explore the world with her mouth. This includes a love for solid food, as well. She has tried and likes many different fruits and veggies. Her newest excitement is for the sippy cup. Its her big chance to drink something besides milk!

Zoo Mania

For Memorial Day we headed to the zoo with Aaron and Michelle. It was very packed with people but it was still a great time.
Lizzie sported her newest, coolest sunglasses (Thanks Kathy! :) ) She, surprisingly, did not pull them off of her face, immediately. She seemed to enjoy the break from the rays in her eyes.
Unfortunately, my camera died so I got very few pics, but we saw many interesting animals!!

Hangin With the Hippies

Its fun to walk around UW campus- it seems there is always some form of spontaneous entertainment.Lizzie does not have any teeth yet. I think she is afraid mommy and daddy will attack her with toothbrushes, floss, and fluoride. Aaaah...The sad life of the child of a dentist AND a dental hygienist. She sure seems to be teething and always chewing on something, though.

I had this dream....we were living in the 70's...or was it real????

Lizzie the Super Star!!

Lizzie is just one week shy of being 7 months old! I had a little fun with our new software, Adobe Premiere 7.0. It must have been meant to be for me to get this! A little background:

I have been wanting to get Adobe Premiere for a while but haven't due to cost. Then...this past weekend it was the dental school raffle!! I posted a blog about this before, but I have won in the raffles EVERY time for each dental and dental hygiene party for the past 4 years.
This year I tried for the Greek restaraunt certificate and did win it. However, the AWESOME part is that I also won a gift certificate to the University Bookstore, and I didn't even enter into that raffle. It is still a mystery to me as to how I won this without putting a ticket in that bag, but who am I to question fate?

For the past year, I have been thinking about getting Adobe Premiere. Since Dave is right at the cusp of graduating, this would be our last opportunity to buy Adobe Premiere at student price from the bookstore. So, with gift certificate in hand, I waltzed into the bookstore and snatched up this super software.

This is only the beginning of many clips, documentaries, and movies starring my #1 actress: ELIZABETH ROSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun With Ashley...and Lizzie

My best friend Ashley has come to Seattle alllll the way from Chicago!!! I have known Ashley since 6th grade. She lived across the street from me so we hung out all through middle school and high school, practically living at each others' houses. A couple days after my family moved in, Ashley came over to introduce herself and we were wearing the exact same teal, striped T-shirts. Ever since, we have been best friends! We don't live across the street from each other anymore but, despite the distance, we remain as close as ever.

We have been having too much fun at Pike Place, Bainbridge, etc. We walked around downtown, shopped in all the very "Seattlish" boutiques, and strolled the beaches.
Ashley was really worried about getting sea sick, but the ride turned out to be ok after all... no one got sick.

So far, we have been having a blast- its so great to have her here!
Ashley insisted on taking a pic of us because we were both wearing lime green.

Ashley was getting into taking pics of Elizabeth as much or more than I was so we ended up missing the ferry back to Seattle from Bainbridge! Whoops! It was a good excuse to walk around more and enjoy the marina.
