I Hope They Call Me On a Mission

Congratulations Trevor!! Trevvy, my youngest brother (far right), is the last one in the family to get his mission call. And he's going to....drum roll please....
Novosibirsk Russia on July 15, 2009!
Its hard to believe you will be in Siberia for 2 years!!
We will miss you, but we are so proud of you.
You may have lost the beard off, as can obviously be seen from the pic, but its ok because missionaries should be clean cut anyways!

Soaking Up the Sun

The weather has been so nice that Lizzy had her first experience with grass! She absolutely loved laying in the grass.
She seemed intrigued with the new texture.
Daddy could not resist throwing grass at her to get a smile.

It seems as if Lizzy is starting to recognize words like "jump." Whenever she is just sitting in her bouncer for a long time, I will say "Jump Lizzy jump!" Well, whether she knows it or not, she gets really excited and jumps like crazy when I tell her to.

If Lizzy Were a Cartoon...

Am I a cute cartoon or what?
Lizzy looooves the water so much. We took her swimming a couple weeks ago and she liked it so much that I have turned her daily bath into more of a swim time. I fill the tub up and we both swim in it together as if it were a pool. A hard lesson I learned is that if you are going to treat the bath tub like a swimming pool, then you better go all out. Meaning: Always put a swim diaper on a baby, especially if you are in the tub with them!!!

Happy Birthday Dave!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!
On Monday, we celebrated Dave's birthday. This is the 5th birthday that we've celebrated together. I can hardly believe it! I am such a lucky gal to have him. He is such a great husband and father; a mere ONE day could NEVER contain all the special birthday fun that he deserves. So we started the pary in New York by seeing Phantom on broadway. Then we had a special dessert on Sunday. Then, Monday we spent the entire day doing fun birthday activities. We went to one of Dave's favorite places to eat: Ivar's. We walked around downtown and went to an IMAX matinee.
It was so nice outside that after I picked him up from school we walked around campus and enjoyed the sun.
We packed in all kinds of outdoor fun then topped the night off with a romantic indoor picnic for two. We put the little one in bed, hence, the necessity of an indoor picnic.

When we were walking around Seattle, Lizzy would reach her arms out to the pigeons so Dave helped her chase one. When I started recording she had kind of given up on the idea of catching one and the pigeon got faster as well. Just prior to this though, she got really close to one and it was so funny to see her stretching her little hands out to catch a pigeon.

She's a Playful Little Girl

Elizabeth has such a vivid imagination. She loves to pretend her rattle is a microphone, and will only speak when its held to her mouth.

Ok, I'm joking. Seriously, though, whenever she has her rattle she won't make a noise til its at or in her mouth. Its very amusing.

Lizzy has never had a toy with buttons to push so I was excited to see how she would like the animal buttons on her new Baby Einstein Exersaucer. She caught on to the idea realllly fast and had a blast!

There's More to Life Than Just Milk?

Lizzy has recently discovered that there's more to life than just milk. There's rice cereal too!
To be honest, she has been eating solid foods since she was just past 4 months old. Its just taken me a couple weeks to get with the picture taking program!
She took to the rice cereal almost immediately. She gets sooo excited about it now, lurching forward and attacking the spoon with each new bite.
I just barely started giving her banana, and so far she is not a fan. We'll see though; she may take to it after a couple more tries.

5 Months

Elizabeth is now 5 months old! To celebrate this milestone she decided to roll over for the first time today!! She was laying on her back and rolled over onto her stomach. We were hanging out with Michelle and Aaron playing some killer bunnies when she reached for a toy on the floor and just flipped over.
We were entertaining Lizzie with some shadow puppets, and she showed her appreciation by doing my favorite facial expression. Often, when she is happy she does what we call her "suck lip smile" or "chicken lips."
